Statewide Transportation Improvement Program

The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a federally required document that provides the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) a listing of all projects that are candidates for federal-aid or regionally significant projects that are not using federal-aid.  This capital improvement plan is fiscally constrained and covers a six year period.  Federal agencies are mainly concerned with the first four years of this document; the final two years are for informational purposes.  Presently, the STIP is updated on an annual basis and runs on a federal fiscal year (October 1 – September 30).  

The draft 2009 - 2014 STIP is now available for public comment.  The DRAFT version of this document can be viewed and/or downloaded by clicking on the link below.  We welcome any comments you may have concerning this document.  Comments, which must be received by

Once the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) has been federally approved, changes in the document could result in an amendment or adjustment.  The following link shows both pending and approved amendments for the current STIP.
