Residents of
West Virginia must title and register their vehicles with the
Division of Motor Vehicles.
Vehicles without liens may be titled and registered by mail or in
person at one of the DMV Regional Offices;
or at one of the privately-owned license services located in
most communities. A dealer may also take care of the paperwork on
your behalf. The registration fee for passenger vehicles and pickup
trucks weighing 8,000 pounds or less is $30.
Registrants receive a license plate and registration card. Keep the
registration card for all vehicles registered, which should be kept
in the vehicle at all times.
For complete information about how to title and register a vehicle,
see the DMV fact sheet, Vehicle
License Information.
