Development and Tourism Authority (PEDTA) works to enhance the economic growth
of our state.
PEDTA’s mission

West Virginia
Turnpike safely and efficiently

tourism
industry
- Foster economic and tourism
development opportunities which create and retain jobs
- Enhance the image of West
Virginia
PEDTA is achieving these
goals in numerous ways. Construction projects help to keep
the West Virginia Turnpike well maintained so that thousands of people each day
may travel safely. The development and maintenance of Travel
Plazas and Tamarack
provide
opportunities for residents and motorists traveling through the state to appreciate our amazing artists and their creations.
These efforts help to ensure
that tourists and residents have pleasant travel experiences while
on the Turnpike so that they will return again and again to our
beautiful parks, interesting historic sites and pleasant towns.
